Programs

  • Ethical Fashion Show

    High School

Did you know that a lot of clothing is produced in factories where workers are paid poor wages and work in sweatshop like conditions? Some of the clothes may have even been produced using child labour. But there are alternatives!

  • Fair Trade In Your School

    Middle YearsHigh School

Schools are at the heart of any community, and because of this they have a very strong influence and voice within their particular community. What better way to spread the word about fair trade and promote it within the broader community than to get the fair trade movement into your school!

  • Fair Trade Sports Balls

    Middle YearsHigh School

Did you know that it takes 690 stitches to make a standard Size 5 FIFA soccer ball? This is very intricate work, so often it is done by children sometimes as young as 4 years old. However, there are now fair trade sports balls that are made by workers in cooperatives who have been paid a fair living wage, have access to clean drinking water & facilities with proper ventilation, and who are NOT child labourers.

  • Workshops In Your School

    Middle YearsHigh School

Want to bring global issues into your school and classroom in a fun, engaging, and interactive way? MCIC offers workshops to schools, which can be presented to individual classes, or the entire student body. Some of our workshops work best when presented to small groups, so in that situation we may ask to run the workshop a few times so that everyone walks away feeling more aware and informed than they previous did!
