Fair Trade Sports Balls

Middle YearsHigh School

Did you know that it takes 690 stitches to make a standard Size 5 FIFA soccer ball? This is very intricate work, so often it is done by children sometimes as young as 4 years old.

However, there are now fair trade sports balls that are made by workers in cooperatives who have been paid a fair living wage, have access to clean drinking water & facilities with proper ventilation, and who are NOT child labourers.

Your school, community sports team, or even your family can order volleyballs, rugby balls, footballs, basketballs, and various soccer balls through MCIC. See below for a catalogue of the sports balls we have access to, and the ordering form to start your collection of ethically produced sports balls!

Download the Fair Trade Sports Balls catalogue to view the available balls, then download the order form and send it to fairtrade@mcic.ca.
