Fair Trade Sports Balls
Did you know that it takes 690 stitches to make a standard Size 5 FIFA soccer ball? This is very intricate work, so often it is done by children sometimes as young as 4 years old. However, there are now fair trade sports balls that are made by workers in cooperatives who have been paid a fair living wage, have access to clean drinking water & facilities with proper ventilation, and who are NOT child labourers.

You can make a difference in the lives of people in the Global South by the everyday choices you make. By purchasing Fair Trade products, such as coffee, tea, chocolate, sugar, bananas, sports balls, t-shirts, you are supporting a system where producers are paid fairly, no child labour is used and environmental standards are upheld.
